Open to the public for the past two
years, Brigham’s machine, welding, and fabricating shop provides
area industries and the public a valuable service. Randy
Brigham’s, owner, interest in metal work began in school with
science class demonstrations. Just after high school, Randy began
working at Cornell, then a local machine shop, where he developed
his skill and knowledge under the guidance of Franklin Farr.
Before going into the business full-time, Randy operated a
part-time welding repair and fabricating business from his home.
Over the years, Randy's expertise
has expanded to encompass custom fabrication for equipment,
specialized tools, and producing contemporary pieces such as
ornate gates, other decorative ironwork, and even sculpture. If
something metal, large or small, needs repair or remade, Brigham’s
is the place to go. Randy enjoys the challenge of making your
ideas into reality.
In addition to welding services,
Brigham’s also sells nuts, bolts, and a complete line of welding
supplies. If they don't have the welding item you need in stock,
they will order it for you.

another item you can purchase at Brigham's. Leave the smoke and
ash outside and let in only the heat. Oaktree Outdoor Wood Stoves

Why open this shop in Laceyville
and not somewhere else? Randy told us, “We found a good location
that is easily found. The atmosphere among the other Laceyville
businesses is close and friendly—something that isn’t found in
larger cities. We refer customers to each other based on the
customer’s need at the time. We help each other.”
What plans are in store for
Brigham’s? Randy and Rene are already working on a blacksmith
studio in their shop and are equipping it with a forge, hammers,
and anvils. Here they will produce the contemporary pieces such as
ornate gates, other decorative ironwork, and sculptures.
Randy and Rene Brigham have been
married for twenty-four years "in spite of working together each
day in their business." The Brigham's have two sons; Preston, who
is in school, working and soon to be married, lives in Kansas and
Jay, serving in the Navy, is presently stationed in Florida. The
fifth member of the family is their shop mascot "Jake."
