The Best of the Mother's Day Contest Entries
I am amazed at the depth of feeling that people have
for their parents. It brings tears to my eyes and joy to my heart.
Read below to see what I mean.
YOU'RE SPECIAL
by Karin Hunsinger
My mom is special to me because she loves me and give
me all i need. She gets me little things i want but don’t need just
to be nice. She is also special because she takes me places. She
cares for me when i am sick or sad and she helps me with homework. I
think she deserves a day off. These are several reasons why my mom is
special to me!
THANK YOU, MOM
by Diana Milliron
My mother, in her eyes, just considers her life
normal but she always is available to her children to help out in
anyway she can even though we are adults. Just goes to show that
adults need help too and a mothers job in their eyes are never done.
YOU'RE MOM
by Amanda Kingsbury
She is my MOM, that makes her special to me. She has
taught Sunday school for 24 years, and freely gives genealogy on
local family names that she has information on to anyone who asks.
I LOVE YOU
by Angelia Hillard
From almost the first time I met my mother-in-law
years ago, we have been best friends. I truly have been blessed I
have been able to confide in her and lean on her when life gets
tough. She is a woman who gives all of herself and asks for nothing
in return, 15 months ago, the Lord took her son (my husband at home).
I see such sadness when I look into her eyes. I truly believe this
woman deserves some pampering. Mother's day is a difficult holiday
for her. Winning this contest might make her holiday special this
year.
MY MOTHER
by Deborah Lepay
My mother is the best mother I know. Over the years,
she has taken care of not just her own kids but every stray kid that
we brought home. She’s known all over for her chocolate chip
cookies…and, still at her age I can’t tell you that but I’m the
youngest and I’m 44. She will still goes out of her way to bake us
cookies even if its 90 degrees. She’s the most giving and
understanding woman I know. She’s gone without a lot over the years
but she always made sure we had what we needed. I’ve seen her walk a
mile in the snow to go to work for her family…shot deer so we had
meat on the table…spend hours canning food to have supplies for the
winter. She always put her children first...and besides being the
best mother she’s always been a best friend. She always told us no
matter how bad it is we could always talk about it with her…and she’s
the best one I know of for keeping a secret. She took her mother
right in when she got older, and took good care of her right up till
she had to go to the hospital, and didn’t come back home. She went to
the nursing home ever day when her sister had a brain tumor and took
care of my father right up to the end. She always taught us to be
good, and have faith in God. If there is such a thing as living
angels, I wouldn’t be surprised...I couldn’t have asked for more in a
mother. She deserves the best, and much, much more.
MY WIFE IS SPECIAL
by Anthony Clate
My wife is special, Because she has had 4 children.
She raised them with no complaints and she has kept our trailer clean
at all times. Cathy has had no complaints even though we don't make
much money. She has tried to help our friends and neighbors as well.
She is the sweetest wife and greatest mother a husband and children
could have.
THANK YOU MOM
by Kyle Michaels
Everything about my mom is special. Because she takes
care of me, my brother and my sister. She tries to be mom AND dad to
us while working full time and going to school part time. She is fun
to be around, too.
YOU'RE THE GREATEST
by Angel Cussins
My mother is special because she took me in when I
was 14 yrs old as her foster child and has never treated me any
different then her own children and she also treats my own children
as her own grandchildren. It takes a special woman with a lot of love
to do this.
YOU'RE MY ROLE MODEL
by Nina Monroe
My mother is special because she carries upon her
shoulders a heavy load and does it gracefully. I cannot express all
that she has done in this short essay. All I can say is that she has
given me a role model to strive to be: a supporting, unconditionally
loving, and a truly wonderful mother.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR GIFT OF LOVE
by Connie Babcock
My Mother (in-law) is special because she is the most
giving person I have ever known. Whenever we need a helping hand,
words of encouragement, or praise, she is always the first one here.
Her sparkling eyes, warm smile, and hearty laugh will brighten the
dreariest of days.
